WORKING TOGETHER
Terms of engagement
These terms apply to every testing engagement unless your written quote says otherwise. If the quote and this page differ, the quote wins.

1. Who you are working with
Nina Reweti, trading as Velocity QA, ABN 29 227 860 607. I am not registered for GST, so no GST is charged.
2. Rates and quotes
- From $500 a day. Each engagement is quoted in writing on its requirements and complexity before work starts.
- Weekend and urgent work is the day rate plus $100 a day.
3. Booking and cancelling
- Days can be booked as needed, or as a block of set days over a run of weeks.
- A booked day cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice is charged in full.
- Either of us can end an engagement with one week's written notice. There is no lock-in.
4. Invoices and payment
- I invoice weekly for the days worked.
- Payment is generally due within 48 hours of the invoice, unless we agree other terms in writing.
- If an invoice is more than 7 days overdue, testing pauses until it is paid and a $50 late payment fee is added.
- Reasonable costs of recovering an unpaid debt, such as collection agency fees, are payable by the client.
5. Confidentiality
- Everything I see about your product, systems, data and business stays confidential, during and after the engagement.
- I am happy to sign your NDA. If you don't have one, this clause applies.
- I may describe a finding as an example of my work only with every identifying detail removed: no client name, product name or data. Tell me if you would rather I didn't, and I won't.
6. What you provide
- Access to the builds, environments, tools and test accounts I need, and a contact who can answer questions.
- Test data. Please don't give me real customer personal information unless we have agreed it in writing.
7. Who owns the work
Bug reports, test cases and notes I create for you belong to you once the invoice for that work is paid.
8. What testing can and can't do
Testing finds problems and reduces risk. It cannot prove software is free of defects. I report what I find honestly and as I find it. Decisions about whether and when to release stay with you.
9. Liability
- To the extent the law allows, my total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid for the work the claim relates to.
- I am not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profits, revenue or data.
- Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.
10. Law
These terms are governed by the law of Western Australia.
